World Food Day 2019
The Ministry of Agriculture, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, and the World Food Day Committee, would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended and made this year World Food Day 2019 a success, this year WFD was observed under the theme “Our Actions Are Our Future Healthy Diets for A #ZeroHunger World.”
World Food Day is celebrated annually on October 16th by 150 countries across the world in support of the FAO’s mission to use the event to raise awareness and to gather greater support and understanding to the approaches that can help to end world hunger.
The World Food Day Program of activities features ethnic food dishes from Belize, displays of various types of locally processed foods and meats, cultural presentations, commercial and agricultural displays and other activities promoting food and nutrition security, so as to help spread awareness and appreciation for the various contributions of agriculture to our Belizean culture.
